State Representatives Justin Pizzulli and Kevin Ritter have announced the formation of the Appalachian Caucus, a bipartisan group of state legislators dedicated to serving Appalachia. The caucus, which is bi-cameral, will focus on policies aimed at improving the region's economy and quality of life. Pizzulli and Ritter were selected as co-chairs by their peers.

Pizzulli emphasized the importance of collaboration in policy-making: “The best policy is formed through collaboration,” he stated. He expressed hope that the caucus would facilitate idea-sharing, challenge discussions, and solution crafting for Ohio's Appalachian counties.

Ritter highlighted the significance of Appalachia to Ohio's future: “The future of Ohio runs right through Appalachia,” he said. He noted that strong families, deep faith, innovative business practices, and a strong work ethic are driving transformative changes in the region.

The caucus includes several state representatives: Justin Pizzulli (Chair), Kevin Ritter (Chair), Adam Bird, Bob Peterson, David Thomas, Jason Stephens, Jodi Salvo, Mark Johnson, Matthew Kishman, Monica Robb Blasdel, Ron Ferguson, Tex Fischer, and Ty Moore.
