State Representative Justin Pizzulli has announced the passage of House Bill 131 by the Ohio House of Representatives. This bipartisan bill aims to eliminate quotas for arrests and citations within law enforcement agencies.

The proposed legislation seeks to change the current system, which allows mandates on officers to issue a certain number of tickets daily. The goal is to emphasize quality over quantity in police work and foster better relationships between communities and their law enforcement officers.

"This common sense, bipartisan legislation will set our law enforcement officers up for success as they work to protect our communities," said Pizzulli. "Quotas put unnecessary burdens on our officers that take away from quality police work and positive community relations."

House Bill 131 has garnered support from both the law enforcement community and civil justice reform advocates. The bill is now pending consideration by the Ohio Senate.
