State Senator Steve Wilson of Maineville has honored the girls' basketball team of Winton Woods High School for securing the Ohio High School Athletic Association Division II State Championship. The recognition highlights the team's successful season, which included an undefeated record.

"I was honored to have this remarkable group of student athletes in the Ohio Senate," stated Wilson. "They are a group with exceptional talent who have set high achievements both on the court and in the classroom. The team has brought an incredible accomplishment to their school and community and I look forward to seeing their continued success."

The Warriors, under Coach Carlton Gray, achieved a flawless 27-0 season by triumphing over the Whitehouse Anthony Wayne Generals with a scoreline of 70-55 in the championship game. The final saw an impressive performance from freshman player, Strawberry Blakumsee, who scored 28 points, contributing significantly to their victory. The team's stellar performance throughout the season led them to be ranked as the top team in Ohio across all divisions.
