State Senator Sandra O'Brien has introduced a bill aimed at establishing a Bitcoin Reserve Fund in Ohio. This legislation, if passed, would permit Ohio residents to pay taxes and fees using Bitcoin. Additionally, the bill allows for donations of Bitcoin to the fund.

Senator O'Brien stated, "The world of cryptocurrency is upon us, and it is imperative that Ohio is in the forefront of this new technology. All indicators point to cryptocurrencies being a major part of President Trump’s economic program." She further mentioned President Trump's creation of the President’s Working Group on Digital Asset Markets and emphasized that "when this group issues its recommendations, Ohio will be ready."

The proposed bill will be sent to a Senate committee for consideration. Residents interested in tracking its progress can subscribe to Senator O’Brien’s newsletter.
