State Senator Sandra O'Brien is advising residents in Northeast Ohio to prioritize safety as severe winter weather continues to impact the region. This comes after Governor Mike DeWine declared a state of emergency for Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, and Lake counties to enhance storm recovery efforts.

"Our region has already experienced overwhelming snowfall and we anticipate more this week," O'Brien stated. "I am grateful to the Governor for this declaration so we have more support to plow our roads, share information, and keep residents safe."

In response to the conditions, the Ohio Department of Transportation has deployed 157 trucks across the affected counties to clear snow from state and local roads. Additionally, the Ohio State Highway Patrol has increased its staffing levels to manage traffic incidents effectively.

Further details on staying safe during winter weather can be found through available resources. The Governor's emergency declaration is also accessible for public review.
