The Ohio Controlling Board has sanctioned $236,786.14 for enhancements to the Wolfden Lake Dam in Shawnee State Forest. State Representative Justin Pizzulli of Scioto County made the announcement.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources will collaborate with Sunesis Construction Co. for the project. The planned improvements include dam spillway upgrades and the installation of hillside drainage and erosion control measures near the spillway system. Additionally, a new metal stairwell will be installed to enhance safety.

"This investment is critical to maintain and preserve local water infrastructure," stated Pizzulli.

The Wolfden Lake Dam was originally constructed in 1936.
