Scioto County has been granted $288,000 by the Ohio Department of Development to aid a community development and infrastructure initiative. State Representative Justin Pizzulli (R-Scioto County) made the announcement recently.

The funds are designated for the Shawnee State Golden Bears Program, which aims to offer physical and social health services to 773 senior citizens in Scioto County.

"An investment in community development and infrastructure today is an investment in our future," said Pizzulli. "I am extremely grateful for this funding."

Additionally, the funding will facilitate flood and drainage improvements in the Village of Otway, positively impacting 100 residents.

In total, 49 communities across 45 counties are set to receive $10.9 million in allocations for community development projects statewide.
