FOIA Request to Brown County Regarding Public Records from January to October 2024 on October 7, 2024.
As a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at South Ohio News have sent a request for public records under the Ohio Open Records Law, §149.43 et seq., to Brown County.
The requested records include a list of FOIA logs that were sent to the county from January 1, 2024 till October 7, 2024. The fields we are interested in are: Requester Name, Requester Organization, Request Content, Request Date, Request Complete Date and FOIA Status.
Our role as a media organization involves gathering and reporting news to the public. Access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional.
