COLUMBUS—State Rep. Justin Pizzulli (R-Scioto County) is pleased to announce that $16,387,086 will be directed towards a waterfront redevelopment project in Brown County as part of the newly created Ohio’s Wonderful Waterfronts Initiative.
The funding will specifically be used towards riverfront improvements in Ripley to increase accessibility to nearby Underground Railroad and historic sites. The project also includes the construction of a new public gathering space along the riverfront.
State Rep. Justin Pizzulli stated, "This funding will honor the history of Brown County and enhance the experience of all who visit or call Ripley home."
In total, over $152 million was awarded to waterfront redevelopment projects throughout Ohio’s Appalachian region.
