Ohio Lt. Gov. John Husted recently said that 'we need strong leadership like' Bob Peterson's following a visit to Hillsboro to show support for Rep. Peterson’s reelection campaign.
“It was a great time in Hillsboro last night at The Patriotic Public House to support Rep. Bob Peterson! There’s a lot at stake this election, and we need strong leadership like his,” Husted wrote in a social media post on X. “I also had the chance to swing by the Highland County GOP office to thank them for all their hard work!”
“Thank you to Lt. Governor Jon Husted for joining me in Hillsboro for an event,” Rep. Peterson wrote in a Sept. 9 Facebook post. “Patriot Public House was a great host and served some amazing food. I am grateful for the support of so many friends in Highland County.”

During his visit to Hillsboro, Lt. Gov. Husted also met with members of the Highland County GOP office.
According to his bio page, Rep. Bob Peterson is a dedicated farmer from Fayette County, Ohio, with a strong background in agriculture and public service. A cum laude graduate from Ohio State University, Peterson's experience includes working on the university's research farm and participating in the OSU Livestock Judging Team.
Peterson has held various leadership roles, including serving as Ohio Farm Bureau President and as a Fayette County Commissioner for 14 years before being elected to the Ohio House of Representatives in 2011 and the Ohio Senate in 2012. He and his wife Lisa live in Fayetteville County with their three children.
Jon Husted was adopted and raised in Northwest Ohio's Williams County. He grew up with a strong foundation in faith, family, and hard work, according to his bio page. After excelling as an All-American defensive back and earning advanced degrees from the University of Dayton, Husted contributed to economic development as vice president at the Dayton-Area Chamber of Commerce.
Husted's tenure as Secretary of State was marked by significant improvements in business processes, including reducing start-up costs and eliminating office fees, saving taxpayers millions. As House Speaker, he championed Ohio’s most conservative budget in decades with a historic income tax cut. Elected Lt. Governor in 2018, Husted continues to balance his public service with his roles as a husband to his wife Tina and father to their three children.
