Sealed bids will be received by the City of Hillsboro, 130 N. High Street, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133 at said offices until 10:00 A.M. on May 2, 2022 for the above-identified project. The bid opening will follow. No late bids or FAX bids will be accepted.
PROJECT SCOPE
The project work shall consist of paving and stripping as provided for on the plan and specifications and related appurtenances and equipment, including all labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete the construction.

Each bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond as required by Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code in an amount equal to the sum of the bid submitted by each contractor. In lieu of posting the bond, a bidder may use a Cashier’s Check, Certified Check or Letter of Credit for ten percent of the Contractor’s bid as bid security. When a check or letter of credit is used, the bidder shall be required to post a 100 percent Performance Bond and a 100 percent Labor and Material Payment Bond, upon the signing of the contract.
PREVAILING WAGE
Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on Public Improvements in Highland County and the City of Hillsboro, Ohio as determined by the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, Wage and Hours Division, (614) 644-2239.
The City of Hillsboro reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and the right to accept the lowest and best bid, the right to waiver minor irregularities on any bid, and the right to accept the bid proposal which promotes the best interest of the City.
Failure to submit the Bid Guaranty Bond with the bid shall be cause for considering the bid submission incomplete and for the rejection of the bid.
Each Proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein. Each bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar size and complexity. The owner intends and requires that this project be completed no later than August 31, 2022.
