Portsmouth West High School standout Sydney McDermott’s college team won in NCAA Division I softball game on Friday, March 7

On Friday, March 7, former Portsmouth West High School standout Sydney McDermott’s current college team, the Valparaiso Beacons, won 5-4 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Loyola Ramblers.

The game took place at Dot Hicks Field. This was their first matchup against the Ramblers this season.

The Beacons’ next game is scheduled for Friday, March 7 at 1:30 p.m. at Dot Hicks Field against Buffalo Bulls.
