On Friday, Feb. 21, former Portsmouth West High School standout Sydney McDermott’s college team won in an NCAA Division I softball game

On Friday, Feb. 21, former Portsmouth West High School standout Sydney McDermott’s current college team, the Valparaiso Beacons, won 5-1 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Monmouth Hawks.

The game took place at PC Softball Complex. This was their first matchup against the Hawks this season.

The Beacons’ next game is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 21 at 5:15 p.m. at PC Softball Complex against Presbyterian Blue Hose.
