There were 30 multiracial students enrolled in Scioto Valley Local School District in the 2023-24 school year, an increase from the 29 multiracial students in the previous school year, according to the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce.

Data showed that Scioto Valley Local School District welcomed 1,166 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, multiracial students made up 2.6% of the student body, making them the second most represented ethnicity in the district.

Scioto Valley Local School District roughly covers two schools within Pike County and has its main office in Piketon.

Among the two schools in Scioto Valley Local School District, Piketon Junior-Senior High School recorded the highest enrollment of multiracial students in the 2023-24 school year, with a total of 19 students.

In 2022, Ohio saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:15, which is better than the national average of 1:16. This marks an improvement for the state, especially compared to 2016, when the ratio reached its decade-high at 16.1 students per teacher.

Despite the apparent improvement, this positive trend is overshadowed by a general decline in public school enrollments, which was accelerated by the pandemic. This decline, aligned with the steady number of teachers in the state over the last 10 years, has led to low student-to-teacher ratios.
