FOIA Request to Brown County Regarding Vendor Payments on September 26, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at South Ohio News have submitted a request for records under the Ohio Open Records Law, §149.43 et seq., to Brown County.
Our request is specifically for a list of all payments made to vendors from January 1, 2024 till September 26, 2024. We have asked for this information in an electronic format and with specific fields included such as the vendor name, transaction date, transaction description, and amount.
We believe that access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we have requested a fee waiver as per our eligibility as media professionals.
We will continue our efforts in disseminating information that promotes transparency and accountability within our local government institutions.
