COLUMBUS—State Senator Steve Wilson (R-Maineville) revealed that Governor Mike DeWine has approved Senate Bill 17, a legislation that mandates the inclusion of content on free market capitalism in financial literacy courses for high school students. Wilson emphasized the significance of this move, stating, “Financial Literacy is the great equalizer; everyone needs it, from the tradesman to the doctor. This is only possible because of free market economics, which is the bedrock of this great equalizer.” Additionally, Wilson expressed his gratitude for the Governor's support, noting, “I am grateful to see the Governor sign Senate Bill 17 into law. Our greatest obligation to our students is prepare them for success. One of the most important ways to prepare them is to ensure that they understand how money works and how the monetary system operates.”
