There were 1,413 students enrolled in Fairland Local Schools in the 2022-23 school year, 4.6% less than the previous year, according to the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.3% of them were boys, and 48.7% were girls.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, representing 93.8% of the Fairland Local Schools total enrollment.

Fairland Local Schools roughly covers four schools within Lawrence County and has a main office in Proctorville.

Among the four schools in Fairland Local Schools, Fairland High School recorded the highest enrollment of 380 students in the 2022-23 school year.

In 2022, Ohio saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:15, which is an improvement for the state and is lower than the national average of 1:16.

Despite the apparent improvement, this positive trend is overshadowed by a general decline in public school enrollments, which was accelerated by the pandemic. This decline, aligned with the steady number of teachers in the state over the last 10 years, has led to low student-to-teacher ratios.
