HUGE Congrats are in order for several members of our department!
During the OhioHealth Trauma Network 2022 Trauma Conference held in Columbus on December 15th, our members were recognized and awarded the Rural EMS Award, For Excellence of Care of the Trauma Patient in the Field”.
The incident relating to the award was the treatment this group provided to a critically injured victim of a gunshot wound in the field. Their rapid, appropriate decision-making and treatment undoubtedly played a large part in the victim’s positive outcome.
We are extremely proud of them and extend our congratulations to them as well.
Additionally, we congratulate and thank the Emergency Department at Southern Ohio Medical Center for their role in further treatment and stabilization of this patient and to MedFlight 7 for continuing care during transport to definitive care at Grant Medical Center.
