Cost of college went up for resident students at Ohio University-Chillicothe Campus

In-state tuition and fees rose 8.5 percent for 2018-19 at Ohio University-Chillicothe Campus, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Ohio residents paid $5,490 to attend the four-year public institution this year – $430 more than the $5,060 charged for 2017-18.

Non-resident students would have paid 54.5 percent more than residents this year, or $8,482. Non-resident tuition and fees were reduced 11.6 percent from $9,596 in 2017-18.

About 99 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Ohio residents. And about 1 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 89 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 210 students received grants or scholarships totaling $985,838 and 139 students took out student loans totaling more than $542,646.

Including all undergraduates (1,586), 1,123 students used grants or scholarships totaling $4.6 million, and 1,060 students took out $4.3 million in federal student loans.
