Shawnee State University enrolls 3,097 undergrads

At Shawnee State University, 85 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 55 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Portsmouth enrolled 3,253 students in fall 2018, including 3,097 in undergraduate and 156 in graduate programs, data shows. 4.9 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

86 percent of undergraduates are residents of Ohio, and 13 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (85 percent) and Black or African American (5 percent).
