Records indicate the facility offered 100 beds, which is six beds more than the county average for the period. The center accommodated an average of 82.5 residents per day during the quarter.
The CMS assigned Riverview Post Acute an overall rating of 3 out of 5, below the Ohio nursing home average of 3.2.
Harbor Healthcare of Ironton was the largest nursing home in Lawrence County that quarter, providing 125 beds. Sanctuary at Ohio Valley was the third largest, offering 93 beds.
Riverview Post Acute reported no fines or penalties in the first quarter of 2026.

Estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau show the nation’s older adult segment is rising while the number of young people drops. Americans age 65 and older grew by 13% from 2020 to 2024, while the under-18 demographic decreased by 1.7%. The older adult population has surged from 4.9 million in 1920 to over 61 million in 2024.
A 2021 study found that nearly half of individuals in this group, or about 28 million people, might need long-term services and support, with more than a third potentially requiring nursing home care at some point.
“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
