State Representative Justin Pizzulli announced on Apr. 21 that Scioto County has been awarded $230,000 through the Building Demolition and Site Revitalization Program to demolish unsafe buildings and prepare sites for new uses.
The funding aims to help remove blighted structures in the area, with the goal of opening up opportunities for economic growth. House Republicans secured $21.5 million per fiscal year in the State Budget for this program to support economic development efforts across Ohio.
“Scioto County has so much to offer, and this funding will unlock new potential by revitalizing sites and creating economic opportunity,” said Pizzulli.
The Building Demolition and Site Revitalization Program was created by the 134th General Assembly. Since its inception in 2021, it has provided more than $310 million statewide, supporting nearly 6,200 demolition projects in every county throughout Ohio.
Pizzulli served as state representative for the 90th Ohio House District according to his official biography.
