Pike County Sheriff Tracy D. Evans announced on March 17 that the Level One snow emergency in Pike County has been downgraded. As of 3:15 p.m., the county is no longer under any snow emergency levels.

The change means that road conditions have improved and residents are not subject to previous travel advisories related to winter weather. The announcement provides relief for local drivers and businesses who may have been affected by earlier restrictions.

Sheriff Evans said, “As of March 17, 2026 at 3:15pm, Pike County Sheriff Tracy D. Evans has downgraded the Level One Snow Emergency. Pike County is no longer under any snow levels at this time.”

Snow emergencies are issued to ensure public safety during hazardous weather conditions, often restricting or advising against unnecessary travel until roads are cleared and safe.

Residents are encouraged to remain cautious as weather can change quickly, but for now normal travel may resume throughout Pike County.
