Ohio Valley Manor is Brown County’s No. 2 nursing facility in Q1 2026, CMS reports

Ohio Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation ranked as Brown County’s second largest nursing home during the first quarter of 2026, data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) shows.

The center had 140 beds available in that period, exceeding the county’s average by 23 beds. The facility provided care to an average of 134.7 residents during the quarter.

Ohio Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation received an overall CMS rating of 4 out of 5, surpassing the 3.2 average for Ohio nursing homes.

Within the same quarter, Ohio Veterans Home – Georgetown led the county with 168 available beds, while Villa Georgetown Rehabilitation and Healthcare Cen ranked third with 100 beds.

Ohio Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation did not receive any fines or penalties for incidents in the first quarter of 2026.

Three for-profit nursing homes operated in Brown County, Ohio, during that time.

U.S. Census Bureau estimates indicate the nation’s older adult population is on the rise as numbers of younger individuals decline. Between 2020 and 2024, the population of U.S. residents age 65 and older grew by 13%, while those younger than 18 dropped by 1.7%. Over the last century, the older adult segment of the U.S. population rose from 4.9 million in 1920 to more than 61 million in 2024.

A study published in 2021 estimated nearly half of seniors—about 28 million—may need long-term assistance and care. The authors also projected that over one third could eventually require nursing home care.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
