Bridgeport Health Care Center ranked 3rd largest nursing home in Scioto County for Q1

Bridgeport Health Care Center was identified as the third largest nursing home in Scioto County in the first quarter of 2026, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) reported.

The facility offered 99 available beds, surpassing the Scioto County average by 25 beds during that same quarter. It served an average daily census of 85 residents.

The CMS awarded Bridgeport Health Care Center an overall 5 out of 5 rating. This rating stands above Ohio’s nursing home average of 3.2.

Within the quarter, Ayden Healthcare of Rosemount Pavilion led as the largest facility in Scioto County, with 117 beds. Best Care Health and Rehabilitation followed as the second largest, offering 110 beds.

Bridgeport Health Care Center was not subject to any fines or penalties in the first quarter of 2026.

Scioto County, Ohio, had a total of 10 for-profit nursing homes.

U.S. Census Bureau estimates show the nation’s older adult population continues to increase even as younger age groups decline. Between 2020 and 2024, Americans age 65 and up grew by 13%, while the under-18 group decreased by 1.7%. Over the last 100 years, the older population in the U.S. has seen significant growth, from 4.9 million in 1920 to above 61 million in 2024.

A 2021 study finds that nearly half of adults in this age bracket—around 28 million people—may require long-term services and supports. The research also anticipates that more than a third could eventually need nursing home care.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
