Adams County Manor was recognized as Adams County’s second largest nursing home in the first quarter of 2026, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) reported.

The facility had 74 beds available, exceeding the county’s first-quarter average by four beds. On average, 67.4 residents were housed at the center during this time frame.

The CMS assigned Adams County Manor an overall rating of 5 out of 5, notably above the 3.2 average for Ohio nursing homes.

In comparison, Eagle Creek Nursing Center reported the highest capacity in Adams County for the quarter, with 85 beds. Monarch Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation ranked third with 50 beds available.

Adams County Manor reported no fines or penalties throughout the first quarter of 2026.

There were three for-profit nursing homes operating in Adams County, Ohio.

U.S. Census Bureau estimates show the U.S. population is aging, with older adults increasing while the number of those under 18 declines. From 2020 through 2024, the number of residents 65 and older rose by 13%, while the under-18 group dropped by 1.7%. The nation’s older adult demographic has grown sharply, from 4.9 million in 1920 to over 61 million by 2024.

Findings from a 2021 study indicate that close to half of Americans 65-plus—approximately 28 million—could need long-term services and supports. More than one-third of this population is expected to require care in a nursing home over time.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
